We review some speciality coffee from Caribe Coffee Co.
First of all, as much as I love coffee, it is often thought that the hot drink cures everything from fatigue to low moods. I’ve never really believed it. Furthermore, I find a lot of coffee to be way too strong, artificial or simply a little too much for my palette.
Instant coffee is simply lazy
Admittedly, a lot of the coffee I drink, especially at the office, is instant. While I’m fully aware it hasn’t got the taste of a good grind, I enjoy the convenience of the ‘just add boiling water’ brands.
Coffee grind convert
However since discovering Caribe, I do admit that and I have been converted. I am turning into quite the coffee grind addict.
Straight from opening, I knew I was going to love it. The scent was complex and flavoursome. It was clear some real time had been taken to select the perfect beans for the perfect coffee!
The texture was fine and brewed easily in our office coffee machine. Which made it not only tasty, but quick and simple to make. Above all, coffee must be able to act as a helping hand, not a hinderance.
What can you expect from Caribe?
Firstly, the delicate taste was strong and dark enough to give a kick. Yet allowed space for the hearty spices to break through the flavour. Also, there was no hint of a burnt or bitter taste, which I often come across.
Caribe Coffee was smooth enough that I was happy to drink it black. Something I can’t say for a lot of coffees.
There was no artificial taste that is usually expected, but a wonderful beverage with the perfect caffeine boost. It was just strong enough – I didn’t feel jittery even with three or four cups throughout the morning. For someone who doesn’t have such a high tolerance for caffeine, this is perfect.
Caribe is perfect for the office
I fill the grind basket to around 80% for the best results.
My colleagues agreed that Caribe was their favourite out of all the coffees our office has offer. And we have a lot of the major store brands available. I quickly offered it around to allow everyone to try. And we got through the bag of granules between us very quickly.
Most noteworthy, the coffee produced a lovely smooth crema through our simple coffee machine. It almost tasted as if the drink had been made with milk.
Coffee to go
All in all, Caribe Coffee is a perfect morning hit, where it is consumed after a bad night’s sleep, before a hefty gym session or to cure a Saturday night hangover.
The effortless process really makes the coffee feel like a crutch for a hard day, even when having to use a machine.
I would recommend using a drip coffee maker, which this brand is perfectly suited for.
Finally, I would happily make Caribe into my go-to coffee brand. Above all, it is simply so delicious and enjoyable! If you’re looking for a top-end coffee, at a budget price, I would go for this. You won’t go back.
