Maragogipe coffee is considered a rare and highly sought-after coffee by some, and is considered good by others:

Flavor

Some say Maragogipe coffee has a clean, acidic body and a flavor that persists. Others say it has a woody and disagreeable taste. The flavour can vary depending on the soil where it grows, and poor soils can produce a coffee with diminished flavours.

Rarity

Maragogipe coffee is rare and difficult to find because of its low productivity and susceptibility to pests and diseases. It's also limited by the special weather conditions it needs to grow.

Good to very good cup quality in Central America, but highly susceptible to rust. Very low yielding, large leaves and large internodes
